Meet Dr. Brooke

I grew up in Dallas and credit my many years as a summer camp counselor for my current work with youth and families. Proud Longhorn, I’m a double grad of The University of Texas at Austin (BA 1999; PhD 2008), with study abroad experiences in Jerusalem and Oaxaca, Mexico.  I became a licensed psychologist in 2009 while completing a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.  My clinical training centered on conducing therapy with youth and families within and outside of the school setting ranging from typical life challenges to serious anxiety and depressive disorders, trauma, school-related challenges, and social concerns.

My style is most influenced by interpersonal neurobiology, family systems, positive psychology, CBT, and DBT; however, I’m most proud of my knack for building authentic, therapeutic relationships with the clients I serve. I focus on looking for strengths and using those as a path for growth.

I’m also a proud mother of two teen daughters; thus I see clients on a part-time basis. I enjoy exploring Austin with my family, checking out live theater, dabbling with a yoga practice, and taking road trips.

I am licensed in Texas and New York.

For more information about my professional experiences, please see my curriculum vitae.

I’ve devoted my career to helping kids, teens, and families.
